according to the news it did go off

A $59.2 million truckload of cash from Oz Lotto is still looking for an owner, with no one in Australia claiming the jackpot from Tuesday night's draw.

The advertised $50 million jackpot rose to $59,295,155 as a result of strong sales for the draw, NSW Lotteries says.

It was the highest first division prize pool ever offered by Oz Lotto.

Despite punters spending more than $87 million in the hope of reaping the prize, it went unclaimed on Tuesday night.

On Wednesday morning, a NSW Lotteries spokeswoman told AAP no information had been received from lottery operators in other states to confirm the prize had been won elsewhere in Australia.

She said lottery officials would work out later on Wednesday how much money would be guaranteed for a bigger record jackpot next week.

One game of Oz Lotto costs $1.10, with a popular "Megapick" entry giving punters 24 games for $25.30.

Tuesday night's $59.2 million draw attracted 79 million entries, with each entry having a one in 45 million chance of winning, so the lack of a winner is against the odds.

The previous highest first division prize pool amount offered for Oz Lotto was $52.7 million, in July 2008.

That amount was won by four entries nationally.

The winning numbers in Tuesday night's draw were 31, 23, 40, 9, 15, 21 and 18, with the supplementary numbers 3 and 19.
