actually it comes down to the lease contracts. These cars arent owned by the drivers, and being leased they can be recalled at any time by the holder of the lease. Its in their contracts. That being said, i think its a poor decision by ford and GM to do this, but they just dont want to warrant and service these cars, and theres not alot anyone can really do about it.

Its just another case of Government holding Manufacturers to randsom. You can bet the Leases were heavilly subsidised.
Why should they go on subsidising this nonesense.
