Yes Brett......early on when i put the heads on she pinged a bit, as i bolted on 302 closed chambered heads that were ported and had
4v inlet and exaust valves put in them. I brought the timming back to 3 deg BTDC and she ran fine and only pinged when i gave her a bit at to low rpm. But when this happened i was running a %50 mix with av-gas and premium unleaded, and she wouldnt ping nomatter what you did. But at 10.5 to 1 comp ratio she had a tendancy to run on when i turned her off....lucky i had a manual, as i used 1st gear to stop her from running on, but this only happened when i was just using the premium and not the av-gas.
